Short answer; probably yes. Just saw an interesting topic on a TV show called Pet Talk. The discussion was about how a dog feels after not going out for 10 hours while their people work. They demonstrated with a 50 pound dog. That size dog makes an ounce of urine an hour; that’s 50 ounces minimum in ten hours. At this point the bladder is already pushing into the abdominal wall; this is very uncomfortable. At between 10 and 12 hours, the bladder may rupture if the dog jumps off the couch. Scary thought. Moral of story; consider a dog door or getting someone to take the dog out during the day if you’re gone that long.
